What are sunscreens? These are products that combine ingredients that prevent the sun’s UV (ultraviolet) radiation from reaching your skin. Two types of UV: UVA and UVB and they are both harmful for the skin. Most sunscreens that start with SPF 15 (SPF – Sun Protection Factor) protect against UVB very well. The higher SPF the better protection. SPF 15 filters out about 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 keeps out 97% and SPF 50 keeps out 98%. The differences seem tiny but in fact for people with light skin, who are sun sensitive it makes w big difference!
